DR. ALLISON KRAMER joined Old Dominion Animal Hospital in 2007 after finishing veterinary school at Virginia Tech. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biology at James Madison University, where she met her husband Jeff. Dr. Kramer lives in Crozet with her husband, 2 dogs and 2 cats, and their two daughters! Outside of work, Dr. Kramer enjoys spending time outdoors, knitting, crafting, and spending time with family. She has special interests in small animal dentistry, surgery, and internal medicine.
DR. GARRETT WOOD is the son of our clinic's founder, Charles Wood, and has joined the practice at Old Dominion Animal Hospital. Dr. Garrett Wood graduated from the veterinary school at Virginia Tech in May 2013. He has a special interest in surgery, cardiology and in veterinary ultrasound technology. Dr. Garrett lives in Zion's Crossroad's with his wife, 2 cats, and 1 dog. His wife is another graduate from Virginia tech and works in Waynesboro as a veterinarian. Aside from veterinary medicine, Dr. Garrett enjoys nature photography, traveling, cooking, and College football. The couple is expecting their first child in March of 2016.
DR. DENISE CHOW graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. She completed an additional year of training through an internship at the University of Illinois and worked as a general practitioner in Chicago before relocating to Charlottesville in 2015. Her interests include internal medicine, dentistry, and ophthalmology. Outside of work, Dr. Chow enjoys gardening, crocheting, and hiking. She lives in Charlottesville with her husband and 2 dogs.
DR. CHARLES H. WOOD, JR. opened Old Dominion Animal Hospital Charlottesville in 1982. He graduated from The University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine and was excited to return to Virginia and make his home in Charlottesville. Dr. Wood is a Past-President and current member of The Blue Ridge Mountains Rotary Club and is proud of his club's contributions to our community. Dr. Wood focuses much of his effort on helping local companion animal rescue groups and animal foster organizations. Now that Dr. Wood has retired, he enjoys pursuing his favorite past-time, sailing, as well as stone carving, painting, vegetable gardening, landscaping, and being a grandpa. Dr. Wood's wife is a partner at The Nook Restaurant on the Historic Downtown Mall, so they share a keen interest in food and supporting locally owned restaurants in Charlottesville. The Woods have passed the clinic into the capable hands of their two children, a daughter who is the practice manager at Old Dominion Animal Hospital and a son who has joined the practice as a full-time veterinarian. The Wood family lives on a mountain in Nelson County with their Australian Shepherd Dog Merlin, their two cats: Guinevere and Precious; and their two horses Apache and Gypsy.
