There has been a lot of rain in recent weeks, along with a fair mix of warm sunshine. In recent weeks we have also seen an increase in wild mushrooms growing in the area.
We wanted to remind you that wild mushrooms present a hazard and danger to your pets. Rather than trying to figure out if a mushroom is toxic or deadly to your pet, we encourage you to call your local veterinarian at the first sign that your pet may have had a nibble of the forbidden plant.
Symptoms to be on the lookout for are:
Vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, staggering gait, increased salivation, and generalized weakness.
